Tessera Strategy Queens, New York Evidence Sweep · fixed-fee document analysis
For estate and trust litigators in New York

Tie the fiduciary's account to the bank records, line by line.

In a contested accounting, the schedules have to agree with the statements. The workbook shows where they do and where they don't, with a page and line for every figure.

The platform behind this service was built for a New York litigation practice.

What the court's own form asks for

The Surrogate's Court account form for an estate (Form JA-7) runs from Schedule A, principal received, through Schedule K. Schedule J, Other Pertinent Facts and Cash Reconciliation, carries this instruction:

"A cash reconciliation must also be set forth in this schedule so that verification with bank statements and cash on hand may be readily made."

That verification is the work Evidence Sweep was built for. Send the account and the records it rests on. The workbook sets each receipt and disbursement against the statements, and lists the statement activity that has no place on any schedule.

What the workbook lays out

  • Each receipt and disbursement on the account, matched to a statement line, with page and line cited.
  • Disbursements on the account with no matching statement entry.
  • Statement activity that does not appear on any schedule.
  • Payments to the fiduciary, or to people and entities you name at intake, flagged for your review.
  • Balances by account and date, for checking the cash reconciliation.
  • Statement months missing from the set.

What to send

  • The account, as filed or in draft.
  • Bank and brokerage statements for every account it covers.
  • The key dates: date of death or trust funding, letters issued, and the accounting period.
  • Names of the fiduciary, the interested parties, and any related entities.
  • Any objections already filed, so the workbook can follow them.

Up to about 3,000 documents per matter at the fixed fee. Larger sets are quoted before anything starts.

Why the method matters in Surrogate's Court

In Matter of Weber, a 2024 trust accounting in Saratoga County Surrogate's Court, the court held that counsel has an affirmative duty to disclose the use of artificial intelligence, and that evidence produced with it should be subject to a Frye hearing before it is admitted. The expert in that case could not recall the prompt he had used.

Evidence Sweep writes every processing step to an append-only log, and every figure points to its page and line. If the method has to be disclosed, there is something specific to disclose. Admissibility is still the court's call, and your expert's opinion is what gets tested.
